Why We’re Reviewing Our Own Host
This isn’t a review based on a spec sheet — this site runs on Hostinger. We migrated it from a local install to production on their WordPress hosting, so this is written from the actual signup, setup, and migration experience, not marketing copy.
Plans at a Glance
What Actually Worked Well
WP-CLI and SSH, Once You’re on the Right Plan
SSH and SFTP are gated to Premium and above — the entry-level Single plan only gives plain FTP, which we’d avoid for anything beyond a throwaway site since it sends credentials in cleartext. Once on Premium, SSH access and a working WP-CLI install came ready out of the box, which made migrating an existing WordPress site (database, theme customizations, uploaded images) something we could script end-to-end instead of clicking through an admin panel.
LiteSpeed Cache, Pre-Installed and Active
Hostinger ships LiteSpeed Cache active by default. Server response time dropped noticeably once the site was live compared to local testing — a meaningful, no-setup performance win.
hPanel Is Genuinely Easy to Use
The WordPress + AI onboarding flow, SSH access toggle, and domain setup were all straightforward to find and use without digging through documentation.
What We’d Flag Honestly
A Couple of Rough Edges During Setup
SSH access didn’t work cleanly the first time we enabled it — authentication succeeded but the shell was misconfigured, which resolved itself after a few minutes (likely a provisioning delay). Minor, but worth knowing it can happen rather than assuming something’s wrong with your credentials.
CDN Caching Needs a Manual Purge Sometimes
Hostinger’s edge CDN caches pages separately from LiteSpeed’s own cache. After making content changes, we found the CDN layer occasionally kept serving an older cached version until manually purged in hPanel — worth knowing if you update content and don’t see changes reflected immediately.
